Congratulations to Anthony Price for being awarded In the Peter R. Marshall Award. Ms. Sacra nominated him and said the following, "This awarded to a Senior who exemplifies direct service to our community. This student is not only a leader in the community, but here at Cumberland High School as well. I could think of one student who represented all the Peter R. Marshall award stands for. The statement below explains what this award stands for: A primary reason of this Scholarship Award is to provide your school with a memorable "teachable moment" of behavioral kindness during a school assembly in which all students will learn the value of empathy, compassion and community service opportunities from their prominent peer. Anthony has been a team captain, volunteer firefighter, peer leader and many more to others in the community and school environment. He works two separate jobs, as well as volunteering as a firefighter. While doing this, he played football and completed community service hours. Many students have sought out advice from Anthony pertaining to post-secondary goals and achievements. His "teachable moment" is not capsulated into one moment. He embodies what we should all strive for.. "to be better, do better for the betterment of all". Anthony will be presented with this physical award on February 14th and all the recognition that goes with the award. Please take a moment and congratulate Anthony for this great achievement. " Anthony we are proud of you! #WeAreCuCPS
