Cumberland HS Duke Nation CHS FFA traveled to Blacksburg this weekend to compete in the 2023 VT Block and Bridle Livestock Contests. We competed against almost 400 contestants representing Four States: Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennessee. When the barn dust settled our Cumberland FFA Dukes finished 15th overall in the junior division and 22 overall in the senior division. M. Adkins (9th) finished 28th overall individual and 5th high individual in swine. T. Bowman (9th) finished 10th high individual in cattle and 34th overall. I. Heath (8th) placed 42nd overall, breaking into the top 50 high individuals in her first-ever experience judging livestock. All of our competitors finished in the top 20% with their individual overall scores. Overall we're very proud of what we accomplished and we competed with some great schools. Looking forward to next year!!! #WeAreCuCPS

Duke wrestlers S. Crespo & A. Winslow represented Cumberland High School well this weekend in VHSL’s first ever Girls Wrestling State Championship. Crespo went 1-2 while Winslow went 2-2 finishing in the top 12. Special thanks to Coach Burke, Coach Bristol, friends, family and the rest of their wrestling teammates for the support. #WeAreCuCPS
