🌟🍽️ The Duke Café culinary students had an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent at the first-ever AgriCulinary Tech Chef Challenge: Innovation Meets Culinary Excellence, hosted by Virginia State University on October 24th, 2024! 🌾
Their three-course creation celebrated local flavors and sustainable practices, featuring:
🥗 Autumn Endive Salad with apples, couscous, and dried cranberries, finished with a brown butter dressing.
🦐 Pan-Seared Prawns served with bacon crème succotash and topped with fennel slaw.
🍐 Pomegranate Poached Pear paired with local honey whipped ricotta foam and spiced pistachios.
This unique competition merged the creativity of ProStart® standards with innovative tech and local sourcing, giving our talented students—N. Rice, K. Brown, N. Evans, and D. Harris—a platform to shine before expert judges from the culinary, agriculture, and tech industries.
