Congratulations, CMS Baseball! Update from Coach Nelson..."The CMS Dukes won our home opener 18-0 against Prince Edward in 4 innings of baseball. The bats were singing all game as Jeremiah Gee led the way with 4 hits while Chase Wise and Nick Foster added 3 of their own each, other Duke batters with hits during the game were Lane Cottrell, Cam Langston and Wyatt Tallmage. The offense started on fire with the Dukes scoring 12 runs in the first inning. Our offense did an amazing job drawing 12 walks while only striking out 5 times all game. The Dukes pitchers threw a combined no hitter with Jeremiah Gee striking out 6 while giving up the only baserunner on a walk. Wyatt Tallmage struck out 2 in his sole relief inning to complete the no-hitter by our CMS DUKES! Although we had some standout performances, we want everyone to understand that this was a complete team effort and couldn't have happened without all 13 players working hard at practice and pushing each other daily to be better. Thank you to all of the people who have come out to support us and the DUKES Baseball Program including a special thanks and First Base Coach appearance by our own Coach Travis Gilliam. It's a great day to be a DUKE!
