Bus # 3 will be a late bus this afternoon Thursday, May 21,2026. The bus will leave campus at 1:10.
Bus # 13 will be a late morning and afternoon bus Thursday, May 21,2026. The morning bus will leave campus at 7:20 and the afternoon bus will leave campus at 1:10.
Bus # 3, bus # 8 and bus #21 will be late buses this afternoon Friday, May 15,2026. The buses will leave campus at 1:15.
This morning, Cumberland County Public Schools partnered with the Virginia State Police for a
planned K-9 training exercise at the high school. Between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m., two K-9 teams
conducted a sweep of the gymnasium and adjacent hallway where seniors will gather prior to
graduation this evening.
To ensure students did not interact with the K-9 teams during the exercise, high school students
were briefly placed in lockdown as a precaution. At no time was there any danger to students or
staff.
CuCPS appreciated the opportunity to support this training while also providing an additional
layer of security for tonight’s graduation ceremony.
