Please join us in celebrating a historic showing for the Cumberland FFA chapter at the 2026 State FFA Convention!

Leading our celebration is Tucker Bowman, who has officially been named the 2026 Virginia State FFA Talent Champion! Tucker will now move on to represent the Commonwealth of Virginia at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this fall.

Our success didn't stop there. Cumberland FFA brought 15 students to the convention—four of whom were competing for the very first time. One in four of our students finished in the top 10 or 15 in the state.

Our team and individual highlights include:

Junior Livestock Judging: Placed 17th in the state, featuring a Top 10 individual finisher—an amazing feat for a 6th grader competing in a field of older middle schoolers.

Senior Livestock Judging: Finished 15th as a team, boasting another stellar Top 10 individual finisher.

Dairy Evaluation: Earned an impressive 8th place team finish in the state, with a standout 7th place individual finish.

Farm Bureau Discussion Meet: Captured 5th place in the state.

Agricultural Mechanics & Environmental and Natural Resources: While both teams finished outside the top 20, our students gave a fantastic team effort and brought home excellent individual scores.

While the awards and top 15 placings are certainly worth celebrating, they tell only part of the story. Over the past four days, our students competed in intense contests that, in some cases, lasted more than five hours. Between competitions, they attended leadership workshops, explored career paths at the expo, connected with members from across Virginia, and had the privilege of hearing the Governor speak.
