Good evening CMS!
School reopens for 2nd semester this Tuesday, January 3rd. The CMS Girls and Boys Basketball Teams host Powhatan on Thursday, January 5th. The games start at 5:30pm and are in the high school gym. Report cards for the 2nd Nine Weeks go home on Friday, January 5th.
CMS Families,
Dismissal can be a hectic time for a school building. This is why we ask that moving forward if you need to check your child out for the day, you pick up your child prior to 2:45pm. Requests taken after 2:45 will require families to wait until after buses have been loaded and departed from the complex. This will allow all our students to exit the building and get to their buses and parent rides safely. We thank you for your help in this matter and appreciate all you do for your child and their education.

We have the following events this week:
The CMS Girls and Boys Basketball Teams host Amelia on Monday, December 5th. The games start at 5:30pm and are in the high school gym. CUCPS Band is putting on its Winter Concert this Tuesday, December 6th. There will be a silent auction and bake sale at the concert. The Concert begins at 7:00pm and will be in the CMS/CHS Complex Cafetorium.
We have a holiday Family Engagement Night on Thursday, December 8th. The event is from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. We will have hot cocoa, cookie decorating, and movie viewing of The Polar Express! This is an event for the whole family! Hope to see you there!

Cumberland Bands’ cookie dough will be arriving tomorrow. Any band member who sold cookie dough should be prepared to pick up or make arrangements for pick up of their orders. Pick up will be tomorrow, Friday- November 4th, from 2-4:30 in the band room. Thank you!

We have the following events this week:
The CMS Lady Dukes volleyball team has a home game on Tuesday, October 18th in the high school gymnasium starting at 4:30pm. Report cards will go home with students on Wednesday, October 19th. Cumberland Elementary and Middle School will be hosting a joint Fall Festival for students and families on Thursday, October 20th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. The family event is an outdoor walk-through event located out front of the Elementary School. We hope to see you there.
Friendly reminder, Cumberland County Schools’ nurses are no longer allowed to give over the counter medicine to students. If you wish for your child to have medicine at school, please bring in an unopened case of the medicine with your child’s first and last name on it, to the middle school office.
