I hope you and your family are having a wonderful and safe summer. We hope everyone is having an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy time together.

We are excited that CHS Football resumes summer workouts following the VHSL dead period.

Summer Workout Schedule

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

5:00–8:00 PM

Weightroom/ Player development. Workouts are in the gym if the heat index is high.

Please mark your calendars with these important upcoming dates:

July 27 – Equipment Handout

July 30 – First Official JV and Varsity Football Practice

August 14 – Scrimmage

Important Reminders

Players must complete 15 days of practice before they are eligible to participate in a contest.

Every player must have a current VHSL Sports Physical completed on the official VHSL physical form before participating.

If your student-athlete is using last year's physical, please note that VHSL physicals expire 14 months after the physician's signature date. Please verify that your child's physical will be valid through the start of the season.

FBLA is heading to Nationals in San Antonio, Texas! Your generous contribution will help cover conference registration fees, airfare, transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, competition materials, and other travel expenses.

The cost is approximately $2,400 per student and leader.

Good morning, CHS Families. We want to remind you to pick up any medications your child has at school before the end of the year. Please collect them by May 22 at 3 PM. This applies to both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. After that time, any remaining medications will be disposed of in accordance with the district policy, except for those needed by summer school students. At the start of the new school year, you will be able to set up your child’s medication plan again. More details will be shared prior to the start of the new school year. Good afternoon CHS Families,
Our graduation ceremony will be tomorrow at 7 pm in the high school gymnasium. Tickets were distributed today to students who met their financial and Chromebook obligations. Admission begins at 6 pm through the game entrance; only ticket holders may enter the gym. Additional guests are welcome to view the ceremony from the cafeterium. All guests will enter the building using the OpenGate detection system. For a smooth admission process, please bring clear bags and only essential items. Seniors need to report to school at 6 pm. This is a change from the previous. As always, thank you for your support.

Cumberland High School will stream Graduation 2026 live on YouTube, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15. Graduation exercises begin at 7 p.m. A live link will be available on May 15.

Please see the attached letter regarding the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 4th. We welcome all; however, if your student is receiving an award, they will be notified directly.

Cumberland High School will be celebrating Screen-Free Week from April 13–17 with a fun spirit week (please see the attached flyer for details).

Throughout the week, we encourage students and families to take time to unplug and explore screen-free activities that promote connection, creativity, and overall well-being.

We also invite you to review “101 Screen-Free Activities for Families” and complete a brief survey on technology and student mental health. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and helps us better support our students.
