8th Grade Science and Civics SOLs on Tuesday, December 13th.
The CMS Girls and Boys Basketball Teams host Prince Edwards on Wednesday, December 14th. The games start at 5:30pm and are in the high school gym.
We have a winter spirit week this week:
Monday - Wear your holiday PJs
Tuesday - Wear your holiday socks and holiday headgear
Wednesday - Wear your holiday colors
Thursday - Falalalannel Day - wear flannel or plaid
Friday - Tacky sweater day - wear your most festive holiday sweater or shirt
There will be no after-school tutoring this week.
Friendly reminder, Friday December 16th is the last day before winter break and is a noon dismissal day. The second semester begins Tuesday, January 3rd.

Last night we celebrated the "Teachers of the Year" at the elementary, middle, and high schools. Congratulations to Mr. Hughes, Ms. Hurt, and Ms. Doss. A special shout out to Mr. Hughes for named the "CuCPS Division Teacher of the Year". Unfortunately, Ms. Hurt could not be there; however, we still celebrated her. Thank you to all of the CuCPS teachers for all you do each and everyday. #WeAreCuCPS
Thank you Ms. Hopper for working with the Cumberland Christmas Mother to make the holiday season a bit brighter for children. The CuCPS team adopted over 50 Angel Tree children this holiday season. It is the giving season for the Dukes! #WeAreCuCPS
Exciting news about CHS HOSA from the American Red Cross. "Last Friday, we saw (37) presenting donors and collected (29) units on a goal of (28) for 104% of our goal! The “real win” on your drive is the (16) new donors that gave blood. That’s a large number for a drive that size and increasing the donor pool continues to be a top priority. Finally, our staff voted your drive as the “drive of the week” in our region. You should be receiving a letter of recognition from our corporate office." Way to go Ms. Winslow, students, and the Cumberland community.
