Athletic activity buses will pick up from Farmville, at Poulston's TV and Appliance and Cartersville, at Country Corner Convenience Store at 4:30 pm, starting Monday, July 31. Practices will run from 5 pm -7:45 pm. Activity buses will depart from the school at 8 pm to drop off athletes at the locations just listed.

Due to the extremely hot weather this afternoon, Cumberland Middle and High School football conditioning will be cancelled for today. Conditioning will resume on Monday.

Five Cumberland High School students participated in a one-day interest camp with Trane Technologies on July 17. The interest camp introduced the young ladies into the energy efficiency field. Several Trane staff members were on site to share their educational and work experience with our students about the energy industry.

Want to join a winning team? The Cumberland Marching Band is looking for you. We are looking for guard members to be a part of this season’s show. What will you be doing? Glad you asked. You will learn to spin flags that add color and texture to the show, compete with the band, and March in the local winter parades. Any interested 6th-12th grader is eligible to participate. Rehearsals start Thursday, August 10th, from 3 pm -6 pm at the band room. Come to the informational meeting on Wednesday, July 19th, at 5 pm in the band room. Cumberland High School will host Orientation Nights for students and their parents in the cafetorium as follows: Rising Freshmen- July 19, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm; Rising Sophomores - July 19, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Rising Juniors- July 20, from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm; Rising Seniors- July 20, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Our new principal, Ms. Shores, and assistant principal, Ms. Garcia, will be introduced. During this time, families will learn important information about CHS and the upcoming school year. Band camp is happening this week! The Dukes are sounding great...#WeAreCuCPS

Progress is being made on the track renovation project. We can't wait to see our Dukes host an official track meet in the upcoming months.


We are looking for several young ladies in Grades 9-12 who may be interested in attending a one-day interest camp with Trane Technologies on Monday, July 17, from 9 am to 4 pm at Cumberland High School. The interest camp is focused on introducing young ladies into the energy efficiency field. If interested, please reach out to Mr. Dingeldein no later than noon, on Monday, July 10. Enrollment is limited to twelve students.

Summer football conditioning will begin July 10, and will run Monday through Thursday, from 5:30-8:00. Players will meet at the locker room by the game field each day. Players should make sure they have physical and concussion forms on file with the school (or bring them to the first practice). Football conditioning is open to students who will be in Grades 8-12 for the 2023-2024 school year.
