The Speed Prevention Award recognizes this club for its unwavering commitment to promoting safe driving habits and preventing speeding among teens and community members alike.
Throughout the year, the club partnered with local businesses and community organizations to spread traffic safety messages by creating custom safe driving coffee sleeves for a local coffee shop, participating in the Elementary School Fall Festival, and distributing educational materials at Parent/Teen Safe Driving Nights.
Their coffee sleeve campaign placed important safe driving reminders directly into the hands of community members, extending the club's message beyond the school and demonstrating how local businesses can play a meaningful role in promoting traffic safety. Within their school, they reinforced the importance of safe speeds through Driver Education presentations led by their School Resource Officer, YOVASO's Distracted Driving Simulator, informative posters, and classroom safety materials.
