Nevaeh Fernandez was recognized by the Cumberland School Board at the meeting on April 7, 2022, for being named the first place winner in the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Art Contest. Nevaeh is a fourth grade student at Cumberland Elementary School. She says her favorite subject is art and that she wants to become an artist when she grows up. Her artwork will be framed and displayed on a rotation basis in the offices of the Secretary of Education/State Superintendent and the Virginia School Boards Association throughout the year.
