Cumberland High School students Joseph Haigh and Peyton Turner have completed a Summer 2026 Internship with the Cumberland County Public Schools (CuCPS) Technology Department, logging over 75 hours of community service each.
During the internship, Haigh and Turner provided direct technical support across all three division schools to prepare devices for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. Their primary responsibilities included:
Freshman Device Rollout: Preparing all incoming 9th-grade Chromebooks for distribution scheduled for Friday, August 7.
Device Maintenance: Testing, repairing, and sanitizing all middle school Chromebooks.
Inventory Management: Receiving, unboxing, and organizing new elementary and middle school Chromebooks using spreadsheet data management.
Facility Prep: Clearing and recycling technology items from the district Network Room to convert the area into storage and preparation space for high school device deployments.
Summer School & Office Support: Managing technology inquiries, setting up a dedicated Chromebook cart for summer testing, and assisting with the relocation of the Technology Department office to maintain uninterrupted district services.
The interns worked alongside, Mr. Hayes Turner, who praised the interns' work, noting that their efforts directly benefited CuCPS students, faculty, and administrative staff division-wide.
Jeff Dingeldein, Director of Technology and Operations, stated, "Joseph and Peyton did an outstanding job supporting Mr. Turner this summer. Thanks to their work, along with Mr. Turner, our devices are prepared and ready for student use. I thank them for volunteering this summer."
