Each month during the regularly scheduled meeting, the Cumberland School Board recognizes the Students of the Month for each school. Students recognized at the meeting held on May 7, 2026, include the following:
• Maya Ross, fourth grader at Cumberland Elementary School, daughter of Coreay Ross and Ardina Thomas, of Columbia.
• Joelle Green, eighth grader at Cumberland Middle School, daughter of Dominique and James Greene, Jr., of Cumberland.
• Christopher Johnson, eleventh grader at Cumberland High School, son of Paul and Tanesha Johnson, of Dillwyn.
