The Cumberland Dukes Basketball Team and the coach were recognized by the Cumberland School Board at the meeting held on March 27, 2025. The Cumberland High School Varsity Basketball team was named the 2024-2025 James River District (JRD) Basketball champions. The Dukes finished in first place out of eleven teams in Region 1B. In addition, Coach Tyrone Mosby was named the JRD Coach of the Year. In other recognitions, player DaColby Harris was selected for Class-1 2nd Team Boys All-State Basketball Team, De’Onta Bartee made JRD 1st Team Selection & Region 1B 1st Team, and Kameron Brown was named to the JRD 2nd Team. The Cumberland Dukes were ranked 10th in the State out of 54 1A teams. Team members include the following:
