Art Winner

The Cumberland School Board recognized participants in the Youth Art Exhibit at the meeting held on March 28, 2024. Each spring the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts sponsors the Annual Area Youth Art Exhibition, a show displayed at the LCVA’s Lower Level. The exhibition represents schools from eight counties. The following students from Cumberland County Public Schools had their artwork displayed in the exhibit:

 

Grade K:  Rileigh Madden, Carleigh Pryor, Amina Sargent, and Ja’ir Williams.

Grade 1:  Gabriella Derome, Roland Nash, and McCoy Stoltzfus.

Grade 2:  Caroline Dickstein, Chase Dunivan, and Caileigh Winbush.

Grade 3:  Cali Copeland, Ava Green, and Kiersten Norris.

Grade 4:  Keith Livingston, Raeanna Mealy, Mia Moore, and Megan Tate.

 

In addition, Kiersten Norris was recognized for receiving an award presented by the Virginia School Board Association. Her artwork was entered in the VSBA Southside Regional Forum, which was held on March 7, 2024, at Petersburg City Public Schools. She was named a third place winner.

The following CuCPS students were recognized for having their artwork displayed at the Youth Art Exhibit: FRONT ROW:  Roland Nash and Ja’ir Williams. MIDDLE ROW:  Chase Dunivan, McCoy Stoltzfus, Gabriella Derome, Caroline Dickstein, and Carleigh Pryor. BACK ROW:  Kiersten Norris, Caileigh Winbush, Raeanna Mealy, Mia Moore, and Keith Livingston.

VSBA Art Winner:

Kiersten Norris, a third grader at Cumberland County Elementary School, was recognized for placing third in the VSBA Southside Regional Forum Student Art Show.
