The Alumni Hall of Fame has been established to honor former Cumberland County Public School graduates who have excelled or distinguished themselves through personal and/or professional success, and who have made significant contributions to society, including Cumberland County Public Schools.

Each spring, one former alumni will be selected to be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Recipient must be a graduate of Cumberland County Public Schools.

Criteria

Selection criteria include the following: 1. Made exceptional accomplishments or was recognized for leadership in chosen field. 2. Made significant contributions to society and/or Cumberland County Public Schools. 3. Demonstrated service in local, state, or national affairs. 4. Served as an outstanding role model for future students.

Nomination Process

Nominations can be made by faculty, staff, professional colleagues, or community members by completing the online application available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8DFK8LF, or by downloading and completing a copy of the application (available here) and submitting to the following address: Alumni Hall of Fame Committee, Cumberland County Public Schools, P. O. Box 140, Cumberland, VA 23040.

 

Timeline

Nominations will open on May 6th this year and nominations must be received by June 6th for nominee to be considered for the annual award.

Applications will be evaluated by a committee composed of the Superintendent (or designee) and other school officials, which may include the Director of Human Resources, the Assistant Superintendent, the school Principals, and two members of the School Board. Final selection will be made by June 30th.

Names of winners will be displayed on a plaque at the Cumberland High School and will be placed on the school website. Winners will also be recognized at Convocation each year.
