I hope everyone is safe and healthy and has found time during spring break to rest and relax. Our virtual offices and classrooms will be back open on Monday, April 20, 2020. We will continue with remote learning until the end of the school year which is Thursday, May 21, 2020. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, principal, or myself if you have questions or need assistance. We are here for you. Reminders for the upcoming week include:

  • Our next food distribution and delivery is Monday, April 20, 2020. Each student will receive five breakfast/lunch meals for the week.

  • The April School Board meeting is rescheduled for Monday, April 20, 2020. The meeting will be held virtually through Zoom with closed session beginning at 6:30 p.m. and open session at 7:00 p.m.  The information to join and participate in the meeting will be posted on our website on Monday.

  • For the month of May, we are looking for students to read during CuCPS Story Time. If your child is interested in being a guest reader, video your child reading a children’s book and email it to me at agriffin@cucps.k12.va.us. He/She will be featured in May.

  • Current 4th graders can virtually participate in 5th Grade Orientation on April 22nd. Be on the lookout for more information on how to participate.

  • I plan to hold two Virtual Chats with the Superintendent on Thursday, April 23rd -- one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 6:00 p.m.  Zoom link information will be posted on our website and Facebook page on the 23rd. I hope you will join me.

  • CCES is promoting a Virtual Spirit Week next week in celebration of Autism Awareness Month. Check out our Facebook page or the CCES Webpage for more information.

Lastly, we are currently in the process of planning for summer school and will provide information on the details in the next few weeks. I hope everyone is staying safe, healthy, and at home. We love and miss you!   - Dr. Griffin
