July 2009
Dear parents or Guardian,
Since 1946, the National School Lunch program has made it possible for schools throughout the nation to serve wholesome, nutritious, low – cost meals to students each day. Theses meals make an important contribution to the total nutrition, which is so vital to children’s mental as well physical growth.
Students may purchase breakfast for $1.00 and lunch for $1.50. Students from households, whose income falls with – in a determined level are eligible for free or reduced meals. Reduced prices are $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch.
The cafeteria will allow one charged meal to be paid the next school day. Middle / High students will have a $10.00 charge limit on your child’s account. Once that limit is met, no more charges will be allowed until payment is made.
One family Application must be completed for each household. Incomplete applications will be returned. Your child will be expected to pay full price for their meals until a completed, approved application is on file. (Children notified of Direct Certification need not return an application. If you have not received a letter by August 14th, you must complete an application for that child.) If you’re household situation changes (family size increases or decreases, income changes), please notify this office so the proper changes can be made. These changes may affect your child’s eligibility status.
On September 18th 2009 your child will have to pay full price unless an application has been processed for the current school year.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns you may call (804) 492-4212 ext 5128 or write the Cafeteria at the above address. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
William Brandt
Food Service Manager
