At the Cumberland School Board meeting held on Monday, February 12, 2018, Mr. Andrew Hoyt was named the new Assistant Principal of Cumberland Middle School (CMS). Mr. Hoyt, formerly the civics teacher, has functioned in other capacities while at CMS, including serving the Summer School Coordinator, the VTSS co-chairman, and an Administrative Liaison.
Mr. Hoyt received his Bachelor of Arts degree from State University of New York at Geneseo, where he majored in History and Adolescent Education Social Studies (grades 7-12). He received his Master of Science degree from State University of New York at Cortland, where he majored in Literacy Education (grades 5-12). Recently Mr. Hoyt received a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Longwood University.
Mr. Hoyt formerly taught at Vicksburg High School in Mississippi, where he was named the Secondary Educator of the Year for the Vicksburg-Warren County School District. He has also been a volunteer summer basketball coach while living in New York.
